Bay Path University, an independent and not-for-profit institution is a member of the Women’s College Coalition. With locations in Longmeadow (main) and East Longmeadow (Philip H. Ryan Health Science Center), Bay Path’s innovative program offerings include traditional undergraduate degrees for women, The American Women's College online, the first all-women, all-online accredited bachelor’s degree program in the country and  graduate programs for women and men

Bay Path was established in 1897.

The name is based on the Bay Road, a footpath used by Native Americans that was later formalized as a much-traveled commercial route between early Connecticut settlements and towns of the Massachusetts Bay Colony including Boston. Read more about Bay Path's history.
