Ann Hood is the author of the bestselling novels The Knitting Circle, The Obituary Writer, and The Book That Matters Most; and the memoirs Kitchen Yarns: Notes on Life, Love, and Food and Comfort: A Journey Through Grief, which was a New York Times editor's choice and named one of the top ten nonfiction books of 2008. 

She has won two Pushcart Prizes, two Best American Food Writing Awards, a Best American Travel Writing and a Best American Spiritual Writing Award, and six times had an essay selected as a 100 Notable Essays of the Year. Her most recent book is the memoir, Fly Girl, about her days as a TWA flight attendant from the late 70s to the mid-80s.
