I received my B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Martin and completed my Master’s in Secondary Mathematics Education with a focus in mathematics at the University of New Orleans. While there I took my degree a little further and took 18 graduate hours in math so that I could be an effective educator at the higher education level. I obtained my doctorate from Liberty University and it focuses on the use of mathematics software in the online format to increase academic achievement. I am truly passionate about making math accessible to all students and have built my educational opportunities toward reaching that goal.

I’ve been teaching math online since 2009 in the higher education sector. I’ve seen the evolution of how we teach math and I am very passionate about making it translate well online to help students that can’t attend a traditional setting. In addition to teaching, I’m also a highly experienced course and program developer for education institutions and private industry. I am passionate about creating content that is accessible to all students by tying content to real-world scenarios. Through this students are more engaged and more likely to retain knowledge of the content and to see how the problem solving skills applied in math can translate to real life.

I also own an educational consulting and corporate training company called Learning Architect Specialists. I enjoy using what I have learned through my educational career and helping companies or educational institutions build stronger courses and training programs.

On a personal note I am a mom to 3 amazing kids. My oldest is 15 and an actor/elite swimmer. He keeps us very busy. My middle child is exceptional as she is on the Autism Spectrum and is 10. She is an incredibly talented dancer and my venture into online education started as a way to support her. My youngest is 7 and is an absolute mold breaker. She loves swimming and playing wrestling or football with her brother. She spends most of her day painting and is convinced she only needs to do math so she can charge people money for her art.
