Cheryl McGinnis, DNP, ARNP-BC, CCTC, FNAP

Dr. Cheryl McGinnis recently joined Bay Path University as an associate professor in the BSN to DNP/FNP program.  She has ten years of experience in graduate nursing education and DNP program management.

Prior to academic roles, Dr. McGinnis spent 17 years as a nurse practitioner in pediatric and adult liver transplants and five years as administrative director of patient care services at a leading academic medical center.

Dr. McGinnis received her BSN, MSN, and DNP degrees from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. She also holds an MA degree in Social and Behavioral Science with a focus in gerontology from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. 

Publications include chapters in the Lippincott Manual of Nursing Practice (6th,7th, 8th, and 9th  editions ), articles in the American Journal of Nursing, Nursing Management, Critical Care Nursing Clinics of North America, and the Journal for Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. McGinnis is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner (ARNP-BC), a certified clinical transplant coordinator (CCTC), and a fellow in the National Academies of Practice (FNAP). She is committed to providing a student-focused teaching experience through student engagement and interaction in an online environment.
