Erin Houghton, MSEd, BCBA®

Erin has been a certified teacher in the area of moderate special needs since 1999. She received a Master's of Science degree in Behavioral Education from Simmons College and became a Certified Behavior Analyst in 2002. She has been a special education teacher for 11 years in public and private school settings. Her work in the classroom has focused mainly on middle school students with learning, emotional, and behavioral disabilities. She has also worked with students ranging from preschool age through high school diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities. Erin has provided private consultation and home-based services to students with disabilities as well as staff training and professional development in public and private settings.

Erin began working in higher education in 2005. In 2009, she joined the faculty at Bay Path University teaching courses first in the special education master's program and the Applied Behavior Analysis program, where she provided supervision to graduate students preparing to take the board certification exam.

Professional areas of interest include: specialized reading and math instruction, writing and implementing effective individualized education plans, self-management, dissemination of behavior analysis to regular education teachers, organizational behavior management, and instructional coaching.
