Janet Stratton, MEd, began her career in education as a classroom teacher before spending time as a reading specialist. Janet has an M.Ed. in Reading and Language from Boston University and a BA in Sociology from Marymount College of Fordham University. Janet is the president of The Reading Institute, which trains teachers and administrators in the areas of literacy, mathematics, technology, and educational leadership through workshops, courses, and licensure programs. Janet developed a reading specialist and principal licensure program for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, where she designed the program syllabi with course instructors and supervised teachers at the graduate level. She consults with schools to implement evidence-based instruction and curriculum through teacher training.
