Jill Pompi, EdS
As adjunct instructor of education at Bay Path University, Jill Pompi has been educating future teachers since 1997. Pompi teaches in the graduate program, and her courses include Multisensory Structured Language Strategies Across the Curriculum, Topics in Clinical Practice, and Teaching of Writing. Her special interests are in the area of literacy instruction and how children of all abilities can be successful in the regular education classroom when provided the right tools.
In addition to working at Bay Path, Pompi is currently working as a reading specialist/literacy coach in a public K-8 school. She is also an independent Educational Consultant and a nationally endorsed consultant for Language Circle Enterprises. Prior to her time at Bay Path, Pompi served as an adjunct instructor at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Simmons College, and Westfield University. She has worked as a classroom teacher, having taught all grade levels from Grade 1 through 5, a Literacy coach, a Title I Director, and a Curriculum Director.
Pompi holds a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a Master in Education with a specialization in curriculum and instruction. In addition, Pompi is a certified reading specialist and earned her principal/superintendent licensure, all from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. In 2008, she earned her Education Specialist degree from Simmons College. In 2015, Pompi was named Berkshire County Educator of the Year and in 2017 she was named Scope Educator Alumni of the Year at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
