Mary Wiseman, MA, MS

Mary Wiseman, MA, MS, teaches courses in Bay Path's MS in Higher Education Administration Program, including courses on building online learning communities and foundations of online learning. Mary spent five years as an instructional designer at Bay Path University, and is now the Instructional Designer at Springfield Technical Community College [STCC], Springfield, MA. Prior to working at STCC, Mary spent 5 years as an instructional designer at Bay Path University and has also worked at The Collaborative for Educational Services, Northampton, MA as an instructional designer. Mary supports faculty teaching online with an emphasis on faculty development and online course design including the implementation of educational technology into the online classroom. Her 25+ years of teaching and learning online has included a variety of educational institutions; international schools, universities and community colleges.

Ms. Wiseman earned her bachelor’s degree online with The New School for Social Research. She continued her online studies earning a master’s degree in media studies also with The New School, went on to earn an Instructional Design Certification from the University of Wisconsin/Stout, and a second master’s degree in higher education administration from Bay Path University. Ms. Wiseman is currently pursuing her doctorate in education, with Northeastern University, specializing in curriculum, teaching, learning and leadership. Her deep interest is in the area of mobile learning, how multiple cultures interact with mobile technology in the online learning environment and what best practices might be applied to improve that learning.
