Robert Thompson, Psy.D.

I got my doctorate in clinical psychology from Widener University in 1996. It’s hard to believe that’s over 20 years ago. While I was going through my doctoral program, I focused on psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and forensic psychology. Since graduation, I've worked as a university faculty member, as program director for an adolescent substance abuse treatment program, as site director for mental health in a large New Jersey state prison, and as a forensic psychologist at the Delaware Psychiatric Center. My forensic work has mostly been in the criminal area--court-ordered evaluations of competency to stand trial, mental state at the time of a criminal offense, and pre-sentence, treatment, and placement recommendations. Over the last several years, I’ve developed a private practice as a forensic psychologist and (occasional) expert witness.
