Robert Tomasulo

Director of Performing Arts and Musical Activities

With an extremely diverse musical background, Robert James Tomasulo brings a wealth of musical experience to the Bay Path Performing Arts Department and Community!

At Bay Path, Robert is the Director of Performing Arts and Musical Activities and coordinates both programs. As director, he develops the curriculum for the instrumental and vocal music lessons and oversees the adjunct faculty instructors. In addition to his administrative duties, Robert directs all three choral ensembles (Chorale, Page Singers, TONE-A-PATHIC) as well as the Instrumental Collective, giving voice and/or piano lessons, and teaching courses on music.

Additionally, Robert serves as the Music Director for the fall musical and composes and coordinates the incidental music for the spring play. Recent theatrical collaborations at Bay Path include The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; Marry Poppins; James and the Giant Peach; Winnie the Pooh.

A highly sought-after music director, Robert has been a member of the music team for over 50 musical productions in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey. Recent music direction credits include collaborations with Playhouse on Park (CT), Ivortyon Playhouse (CT), College Light Opera (MA), OPTC (NJ), and The Woodstock Playhouse (NY) – where he currently spends his summers as the Resident Music Director for their Summer Season.

As an educator, Robert has worked at numerous educational institutions in various capacities, including Simsbury High School, Bristol Eastern High School, South Windsor High School, The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts and the Hartt School Community Division.

Robert attended the University of Hartford/Hartt School and holds a BSE in Acoustical Engineering and Music as well as a BM in Music Composition. He is an active member of NAFME, ACDA and ASCAP. For more information, visit his website: robertjamestomasulo.com.
