Dr. DeVito's qualifications include credentials as a registered nurse, administrator, and educator with years of experience in healthcare education, quality, leadership, and delivery of patient care.

Clinically her career has focused in emergency nursing and emergency medical services, specifically paramedic education. Interests include quality in education, meeting student learning needs, and the management and delivery of patient care that meets the highest standards in today’s complex healthcare setting.

Academically, she is a registered nurse and holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership which specialized in leadership and systems management; a Master’s degree in Education which focused on adult education, curriculum development and a minor in Conflict Resolution and Negotiation.

Dr. DeVito has worked extensively in the healthcare setting in nursing, Emergency Medical Services, higher education and hospital administration. She has worked providing direct patient care, as an educator in allied health and Emergency Medical Services, a quality assurance coordinator, and nursing director. In higher education, she has years of experience as a program director, classroom professor and department chairperson.

She was a prominent supporter during the transition in Emergency Medical Services’ education to national standards and was distinguished for her contributions. She has also been recognized throughout her career for various education methodologies while working with EMS educators. She has multiple publications, and has presented at local, state and national conferences.
