This major is designed to provide a background in criminal investigation, criminal evidence, and criminalistics. Students develop a perspective on how crime labs and digital forensic professionals work hand in hand to solve complex crimes, ever mindful of criminal law, procedure and the rules of evidence.

Public Safety & Justice
This major helps the student understand the need for public safety and how to prepare for, prevent, and protect against disasters, crimes, civil liberty violations, and national security concerns. It also instructs students how forensic investigation is conducted to insure the safety of the public.

Rehabilitation, Advocacy & Justice
Students will gain the advanced knowledge and skills needed to protect vulnerable women, children and families affected by the justice system. The program focuses on the most effective safety protocols and community social services. Students learn how to assist clients with court statements and appearances. They will evaluate a wide variety of real-life cases and determine the best practices for dealing with each situation. Students will investigate the ethical implications of working with victims and those incarcerated in women’s jails, prisons and juvenile facilities.

Students interested in pursuing law school after graduation can apply to the unique 3+3 Program, a partnership between Bay Path University and Western New England University School of Law. This program offers students the opportunity to begin law school at Western New England University in what would have been their senior year at Bay Path. To be eligible, students must attend Bay Path for at least 30 credit hours of undergraduate study.
Every student creates an ePortfolio – a digital portfolio of papers, presentations, awards, Badges and more. It allows prospective employers to read, hear, and observe graduates’ accomplishments and skills for themselves!
