During this closure period, the Hatch Learning Commons will be staffed at the following times:
Mondays - Thursdays, 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Fridays, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Interlibrary Loan
Bay Path students, faculty, and staff can still request materials through ILL. Electronic materials will be sent to your Bay Path email address. Please note, however, that access to physical materials may be limited, and there may be delays in delivery based on how other libraries are responding to college and university closures.
All interlibrary loan (ILL) materials from other libraries can be returned to Hatch by their assigned due date. Please mail the materials back to Hatch at the following address:
Hatch Learning Commons
Bay Path University
588 Longmeadow Street
Longmeadow, MA, 01106
Additionally, you may drop off ILL materials in the dropbox at the front entrance of the building.
If you do not have physical access to borrowed ILL material due to the closure of the campus, please contact ill@baypath.edu so we can contact the lending library to request an extension of the due date.
Research Support
Hatch librarians are ready to support your research needs, from general questions to in-depth one-on-one research support. Please contact hatchlibrary@baypath.edu, call (413) 565-1376, or use the Chat link for immediate assistance. You can also make research appointments to work with a librarian via phone or Zoom.
You can also find research guides for your courses/departments at the following links:

Information Literacy Instruction
During this transition period, Hatch librarians are happy to create instructional videos, as well as meet with your class virtually through Zoom, on library services and research. Please use the contacts above to request instruction or videos.
Additionally, Hatch Learning Commons has access to Credo Instruct, which contains short videos, tutorials, and quizzes on foundational information literacy concepts such as getting started with research, evaluating information, and citations/academic integrity. Copyright
Due to the extenuating circumstances, copyright experts feel that certain provisions of the Copyright Act can be applied more broadly for the duration of this health crisis, in particular, the Fair Use provisions. Instructors who want to upload materials to Canvas may wish to use a Fair Use checklist or evaluator to determine if their use is applicable, keeping in mind that the extenuating circumstances of a nationwide health crisis can be used as a factor.
One such evaluator can be found here: https://librarycopyright.net/resources/fairuse/index.php.
Here is another checklist: https://copyright.columbia.edu/basics/fair-use/fair-use-checklist.html.
