Advising Student Questionnaire
Career Advising
Bay Path is committed to ensuring that all students have the resources that they need to make empowered decisions about majors and career choices, right from the start of their educational journey. For this reason, we require all incoming students to complete the Self-Directed Search Career Assessment .
The SDS Assessment is a useful tool for helping you to think about your professional and personal strengths, as well as potential career pathways. You will receive a copy of your SDS Assessment results, as will the staff at Bay Path's Sullivan Center for Career and Life Planning (SCLP) and your academic advisor. Please be sure to complete the following steps:
Activate your "My Bay Path" Portal account
Complete the Self-Directed Search Career Assessment. (Remember, there is no right answer on career assessments; it's simply a window into who you are as a person.) The assessment will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Schedule your first career coaching session using the information received following assessment completion.
Tip: You will also use your assessment results in an assignment in your first Bay Path class, so it is important that you complete this before the start of classes.
Please reach out to our Dean of Career Development, Gretchen Heaton, if you have any questions or concerns: gheaton@baypath.edu
New Student Orientation
Before the start of classes, you will be required to complete BPU099 - New Student Orientation. This zero-cost, zero-credit online course is delivered through Canvas, Bay Path University’s learning management system, and is facilitated by support staff in departments such as Advising, Admissions and Academics.
You will be able to access your orientation experience on your Canvas Learning Dashboard, once you have officially accepted your offer of admission and have been enrolled. Please be sure you have activated your My Bay Path Portal and your Bay Path email account.
